Applications are invited for a postdoctoral appointment at Leiden Observatory in the group of Dr. Jacqueline Hodge. The successful candidate will conduct studies on early galaxy assembly, with particular focus on ALMA, VLA, and JWST data. Candidates with experience with data from these facilities and/or 1) image/uv-plane morphological fitting, 2) dust and line radiative transfer modeling, 3) stellar/gas kinematics and dynamical modeling, 4) resolved SED fitting, or 5) creating mock observations from galaxy simulations are particularly encouraged to apply.
Applicants must have a PhD in physics, astronomy, or a closely related field at the time of appointment. The postdoc is for three years, subject to a review during the second year. The starting date is negotiable. Applications should be submitted electronically by the deadline of January 13, 2025. A complete application includes a cover letter, CV, publication list, and a statement of research experience and interests (maximum 2 pages). In addition, applicants should arrange for three reference letters to be submitted at the same web link before the indicated deadline. Questions may be directed to Dr. Jacqueline Hodge (hodge@strw.leidenuniv.nl).
